Kutani Porcelain "Rooster" 1997

This is a representative masterpiece of Ko-Kutani pottery, widely known even overseas. It is a work that simply depicts a single phoenix, a mythical auspicious bird, across the entire surface of the plate. However, its design effect is outstanding, brilliantly showcasing the characteristics of Ko-Kutani color painting. The color combination, primarily using deep blue and purple with the addition of green, yellow, and red, displays a richness of color that belies the impression of five colors.
